Why people look for an old version
There are three reasons we hear most. First: the phone is old and will not accept the current build, usually because it runs Android older than 7.0. Second: the latest update changed the interface and the player wanted the familiar one back. Third: a problem appeared after updating - slowness or crashes - and rolling back looked like a quick fix. In all three cases there is a better answer than an old build, explained below.
What breaks in old builds
The app is not a self-contained file; it is a front end that talks to the 888starz servers with every tap. When the developer changes how the connection or protection works, old builds stop understanding the server. What usually goes first: the cashier (deposits and withdrawals are rejected or hang), then live betting (odds do not refresh, so bets are rejected), then logging in itself. On top of that, old builds lack security fixes, and files posted on public file sites cannot be confirmed as unmodified.

The alternative for your situation
A phone on Android older than 7.0: use the 888starz site in your browser and add it to the home screen as an icon - it opens like the app with the same account. You dislike the new interface: most settings (language, odds display, notifications) can be adjusted in the account menu, and the new layout usually feels normal within days. A problem after updating: clear the app cache; if it persists, uninstall and install the newest file again, then contact support at [email protected] with your Player ID if the fault remains.
Getting back to the current official build
If you installed an old build from an outside source and want to return: uninstall it first (Settings → Apps → 888starz → Uninstall), then download the file with the “Download the current version” button and install it as in the install steps. Your account and balance are stored on the server and are not affected by uninstalling. After that the app updates itself, as explained on the update page.
