Why an APK and not Google Play
The official 888starz Android app is not published in Google Play in Egypt, because Google’s store does not allow real-money betting apps in many countries. So the developer, Bittech B.V., distributes the app as an APK downloaded straight from the official link - the same file every Android player in Egypt uses. What you find in Google Play under the 888starz name is either a build for another country such as Kenya, or an unofficial app that only borrows the name; do not enter your account details in it.
An APK is no less safe than a store app if it comes from a trusted source: it is the same package format Google Play installs, the only difference being that Android asks you to confirm the install manually.
Enabling unknown sources by phone brand
The permission is granted to the app you downloaded the file with (usually Chrome), not to 888starz itself. The path varies a little by brand and system version:
- Samsung (One UI): Settings → Apps → choose Chrome → Install unknown apps → Allow.
- Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco (MIUI / HyperOS): Settings → Privacy protection → Special permissions → Install unknown apps → Chrome → Allow.
- Oppo, Realme (ColorOS / Realme UI): Settings → Security or Privacy → Install apps from external sources → Chrome → Allow.
- Infinix, Tecno and stock Android: Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps.
The easiest route on any device: open the APK straight from the notification - a Settings button appears and takes you to the right permission in one tap.

How to tell the file is genuine and safe
Download the file only from the download button on this page or from the 888starz site. The original app is free and asks for nothing during installation except the unknown-sources permission for your browser - if a file asks for odd permissions such as reading messages or device administration, delete it immediately. Public file sites may host outdated builds, and “modded” sites host files that can carry malware; we explain this on the modded APK page.
What you get in the app after installing
After logging in you have every 888starz section: pre-match and live sports, esports, the casino and 888Games such as Aviator and Crash, and the cashier in Egyptian pounds.
